Sam

Now we haven't had much luck with pets.

We did have a dog named Bear and he was a great dog. He was trained and full grown when we rescued him. But after having Landyn he had gotten old, had a heart condition, and limes. He became irritated and ended up attacking Landyn when Landyn was just 9 month old.

We had to put him to sleep.

It was sad.

We also had a cat, Homer, he was a great cat. He never meowed. He was quiet, and occasionally loved to cuddle and loved to play with Bear.

When we put Bear down, he went a little crazy and got outside and disappeared for a while. He eventually showed up in our garage, skinny, and malnourished. I didn't want Landyn to get sick from a yucky cat. We couldn't get rid of him, who would want a cat like that. So our friend Nick took him and found him a good home.

We tried a puppy about a year later.

Not researching long enough we had picked a kind of animal that was notorious for not getting house trained and that dog lived up to that title.
We ended up giving her to an older couple that had just recently lost their dog when it got hit by a car.

Then there was Jazmine, rescued by my friend Kayli's brother Bill. Just a small puppy she was great. She played with Landyn and loved the wadding pool. (she did like to dig in the yard too). She was well behaved, and love able. Then Logyn was born, its like her attitude changed. She was mean and irritable, she cornered my 2 small cousins in our kitchen one day.

I panicked.
I didn't want what happened to Landyn to happen to him again or Logyn or anyone else. So I called my brother and said you HAVE to find a home for her. I felt horrible, but my boys come first.

Now some people would say that we are not animal people, that we are insensitive. But what most people don't know is that I grew up on a farm. We had cats and dogs all the time. I have had every kind of dog in the encyclopedia over 25 dogs growing up.
They were always a part of the family. But they got hit by cars, attacked by god only knows, and its horrible... but some animals were taken to the woods with Dad and the gun and us kids were told they ran away and they were never seen again.
I have almost become immune to attaching to animals.
Matt has had only a handful of dogs they have all passed away and is also grown immune. By in light of all of our bad examples we both still want to try.
One day we will come across the perfect family animal.
Last night Matt brought home a kitten we call Sam.
I have never seen a cat like him.
He is a runt, and he loves kids... a kitten...that loves kids! Who would of thought!

Most kittens run and jump and claw and meow, and climb... Sam likes to cuddle and spent the night next to Landyn on his pillow. The sweetest thing ever.

Maybe...

...this is it.
