Oh My Santa!



Today we woke up this morning and took the boys to the Luck Library to see Santa. Landyn was very excited, he kept telling us that we were going to the Polar Express to see Santa.


We met our Neighbor Lisa with her daughter Kyrie and Landyn's classmate and best bud Anders and his sister Britta Dueholm. We walked in and the kids were less then thrilled. Its funny how excited they get before they get there, and when the time comes to meet Santa they change there minds completely.

We tried bribing Landyn, but no go. He changed his mind, he didn't want to see Santa, and neither did any of the other kids, except for Britta she is a bit older then the rest of them and she understood more what was going on.

Kyrie Grace didn't think this was fun either...

After a few more bribes and convincing, Daddy went up to see Santa too. Another picture of Landyn ticked at the world.

But once he got his present from Santa with goodies inside he forgot about the whole ordeal and was back to normal.

W X Y ? Z!!!!!

My oldest munchkin Landyn is totally too smart for his own good. I am not trying to be by est, but once you here this story you will laugh.

Tuesday night I was with the boys and Matt was out in the Man shack with his buds. The phone was ringing and I had just gotten home from work. Landyn was trying to get my attention desperately he wanted to show me that he can write his whole alphabet all by his self.

So finally I sat down at the table and he started writing away... he told me quote" I am not going to do the lower case letters because they are more difficult".

I was floored by what he just said... I said... "uhhh ok".

I watched him do the whole alphabet twice, but I did notice something near the end of his alphabet he would squeeze in another letter. I asked him what that was.
He said it was an N.
I said, honey there is only 1 N in the whole alphabet. He of course being Landyn argued with me and said oh yes there is... so he proceded to recite the whole alphabet.

Now that is a smart 4 year old!

I tried explaining to him that that was not an N it was an &. But he said that is not how he writes the alphabet. :-)

A Happy Thanksgiving!




We had Thanksgiving at my Aunt and Uncle Kim and Tim's this year. We usually go to my Grandma Bev's but she was sick.


We all had a good time, my sister was home from Madison with her boyfriend, and my Mom and my brother came too. So technically my whole family was there, which was nice.




As soon as we got to Tim's I told Matt that I wanted to take some family pictures before the boys got something on their clean clothes, so we got right infront of my Uncle's fireplace and he took some shots.


Landyn was pissed at the world and would not smile in any of the pictures, which I have come to terms with now having 2 little boys...




"I will never get good family pictures, someone will not be smiling, someone will not be looking straight at the camera, fingers will be in mouths and noses, and there will always be something on someones shirt".

The food was great, I love being able to stuff myself and not feel guilty. Its the holidays and that is my excuse!

My sister and I planned a shopping trip the following saturday in the cities, she stayed in the area until that sunday so it was nice to actually get to spend time with her. I would have loved to go shopping the friday after Thanksgiving, but I had to work.


My aunt and her friends left at 2 AM!!!! They had to get to the Herburger's sale.




I finished my Christmas shopping on Saturday which made me so happy. I started shopping in July! So this year the Christmas bill was not too shabby, and I even got to get extra gifts for people because I have been keeping my eyes open for six months. And of course Matt being able to work for the state of Minnesota getting over $30 an hour the last 2 weeks was deffinetly a help.


I am definetly going to keep christmas shopping in July an annual tradition.

H 1 N WHAT!!!!

Well so it goes... the LoRusso Thanksgiving curse had struck us AGAIN!

Just about every other year us LoRusso's get struck with some kind of sickness on or around Thanksgiving. Why can't the flu seasons be in March when nothing better is going on?

This year of course everyone is spooked by the so called "swine flu". Well the counties were out of the vaccine and what do ya know we all get it... at once the week before Thanksgiving.

Logyn came down with it first, and I of course had to take care of the poor little guy. He had a fever of 101.9 and was so sleepy. He didn't have a cough, but you could tell he was miserable from the fever. Needless to say we spent the whole weekend in my bed together. I kind of missed snuggling with him. It was bittersweet.

Next my Mom came down with it, forcing me to call in to work because my Mommy was sick. Then Wednesday at work I started to feel like crap, cold chills, then sweat running down my face and back. While I was at work, Matt called me from his work and told me he felt awful and was coming home. Thursday I tried coming to work but Karen sent me home, which I was gratefull in a way. I wanted to be at work, but yet I wanted my blankie.

Friday I got dressed, but all the work from getting dressed, made me feel like I ran a marathon, so I called Karen and said no way!

We decided because we were so sick we had to cancel a Thanksgiving we had planned with Matt's side of the family the saturday before Thanksgiving. I felt horrible, but I didn't want to get anyone else sick. Landyn on the other hand had not come down with anything yet, and we thought that he might dodge the whole thing, but Sunday he came down with a nasty cold, which could have well been H1N1.

Going back to work on Monday was like I should have come back from Maternity leave again. I felt like I was gone forever, and had to get back into the swing of things all over.

While I was working, my Grandma called and said she was canceling Thanksgiving because they were all sick with H1N1--- THEY ALL HAD THERE SHOTS a month ago.

So if you going to get it... your going to get it!

All we felt was the 101.9 fever and being completely exausted. Cold chills, sweats,a little coughing, and we just couldn't do a thing.
No vomiting, or any of that yucky stuff. But the thing does trick you into thinking your better when your not. You start walking around because you feel good, and then about 30 minutes later you can move again and sweat is pouring off your body.

Trick or Treat!!

Halloween 2009.

Logyn dressed as a little lion cub, and Landyn dressed as a red power ranger. Logyn didn't really seem to mind his costume. Landyn on the other hand was not too impressed with his. He loved his red mask, but he didn't care for his puffy muscles that were sewn into his costume. We had to bundle the kids up good this year, which was nothing compared to last year when we all wore sweat shirts and we were sweating!
This year Aunt Susan came home from college to join us in our trick or treating adventure. So we had planned on a big family outing for Halloween. I think the kids really enjoyed it.
This year the town of Luck had Trick or Treating at all the businesses during the day, and then afterward there was a kiddie parade on main street. Landyn was so excited to be in the parade with all the other kids. Logyn was not to thrilled at this point. We were getting dressed to go outside and we weren't going fast enough for him. As most of you know he is an outside baby and enjoys being outside at any time of the day. I am not sure he enjoyed being bundled to the max this time.Daddy and the boys posing for mom's camera. Say cheese!As soon as we were ready, Logyn waddled outside and tripped on all the leaves in the yard. As you can tell we have LOTS of them in the front yard. But this was still a cute picture.After our in town trick or treating we came back to the house to warm up before the parade started. I decided to stay home with Logyn because he was too tired, and needed to take his nap. Izzak, Landyn and Logyn were all playing behind the couch, when we gave Logyn his bottle, after a while we noticed Logyn had gotten a little too quiet when we realized that he had fallen asleep snuggled in all the blankets.Landyn is all ready to go waiting for the parade to start.He found a pre-school friend Anders, and his sister Britta. They all walked together holding hands in the parade.What a great shot of the three of them.

After the parade, Landyn and daddy came home and we ate supper and bundled up again to go trick or treating around town. We added a couple more layers of clothing on the kids and out we went.
Some friends of ours Todd and Ronette met us outside with their 2 kids Oliva, and Zak, and they decided to tag along with us trick or treating.
So the whole gang consisted of Matt, Jen, Landyn, Logyn, Mary, Susan, Keenan, Izzak, Todd, Ronette, Oliva, and Zak.
And the spooky costumes consisted of 2 Lions, Batman, a red power ranger, and a mermaid (I think).

Carving Pumpkins

Friday after work we decided to carve our pumpkins. (Well mom decided to carve the pumpkins, and she ended up doing all of the work). The boys were way to grossed out by the pumpkin guts to do anything. Landyn did tell me what kind of face to put on the pumpkins.






Logyn soon got interested after a little prompting from Mom and Dad.






Logyn was scared of the pumpkins when we were all finished. I guess I did a good job then.

Landyn's 4th Birthday

(Ok, so I am a little behind on my blog posts. But I am a little behind on about everythig this month. So here is Landyn's birthday post that I forgot to put out on his birthday October 5th.)

Landyn's 4th Birthday, I can't believe he is 4. He started preschool this year, and he is a big brother, he has grown up so fast. Latley I look at him and I can see the tiny little baby we brouht home from the hospital 4 YEARS AGO! Boy how the time goes.


This year for Landyn's birthday Matt and I wanted to get him something special. We have never really gone overboard for the kids' birthdays but this year we wanted to get him a power wheel. Of course Matt and I said we both wanted one as kids growing up but we never got one.


We hid the thing in the back office outside just in-case Landyn ventured into the garage one day and would find it.


We figured we better give it to him early because Matt had been working all week and he was scheduled to work during Landyn's birthday party. So we had a little party at home just the 4 of us and we had him open his BIG present.


Its funny because we snuck it in the house while Landyn was going to the bathroom, we thought we would suprise him when he came out to find this huge present in the living room, well... not so much. He didn't even see it, he walked right by it, the little bugger.


But when he did see it he was floored.


He tore into it and screamed "a fourwheeler!!" it was great.




He tore the paper right off and hopped right on the thing. As soon as he sat down he floored it into the kitchen paper and all. (which suprised me because I thought he didn't know how to run the thing yet.)

He was one happy little boy.

Logyn on the otherhand was absolutley frightened by it and screamed his way straight into my arms while his brother drove around the house on it.

So we decided maybe it was best for Landyn and Daddy to go outside and practice in the grass, so they bundled up and out they went. Mommy and Logyn stayed inside and watched out the window.

One lucky little 4 year old.

Landyn was pretty good at driving. He just needed a little help learning how to backup. Daddy had to run after him while he drove to the park!

Sunday morning I woke up and of course it was a cold rainy day. So no birthday party at the park again this year. I think I might give up on that now.
We decorated for the party and soon the guests arived. We had Izzak, Olivia, Zak, Allen, Kyrie, Logyn, and Landyn. I think they all had a great time.

Opening gifts with little ones is always the fun part. You always have the "helpers" that want to see, and try to open the gifts too.

Is it Fall already???

Boy... is the Fall season just flying by, or is it just me.
Last week momma (me) had been sick with the awful head cold. It's not much fun at all and
last weekend I suffered with my worst migraine ever. I normally don't get them but ever since having Logyn they have started. I had the darn thing for 2 whole days with no relief.
Monday Matt ended up bringing me into the Doctors office because I just couldn't kick it
I didn't get to see my real doctor because I think we have the same vacation schedule.
When ever I have a day off .... so does he.

I seen this weirdo... that looked at me funny the whole time.
Never going back to that guy.
Needless to say I have hormonal issues... I'm going to discuss this with my real doctor during my physical.
Anyways...

Dr. gave me some drugs.

I didn't like taking anything that said WARNING! Causes severe addiction!
So I started off by just taking 1. Well nothing. So then I took the other one.
I took a little nap but the drugs made my body feel drunk and my mind race...now I know why they cause addiction.
(They make you feel good, and you can get a lot done).
(Won't be taking those unless absolutely necessary).
Then Thursday came the head cold.
Rotten thing.
Stayed home from work Thursday (did not have the swine flu) thank god!
Its so hard to rest when you have 2 little kids ruling the roost while your hubby is away working for 2 weeks.
Worked Friday, and then the weekend came, still trying to feel better I really wanted to take the kids' pictures outside. It looked so beautiful out.
So I dressed the boys up in their first matching outfits ever, and we drove around looking for some nice leafy spots.
My first instinct was to take them to the golf course. I really didn't care if I wasn't supposed to, I WANTED LEAF PICTURES! And I felt like crap so if anyone wanted to mess with me they were going to hear about it.

He looks as though he doesn't know what to do.



We found a pretty spot on the beach. Landyn was actually excited to take pictures, (probably because I told him he could have some M&M's if he was a good boy), Logyn was a little confused. I don't think he understood why mom plopped him down in a pile of leaves.


Good so far...

A little too tight.

They both did pretty good even though there were boats flying by on the lake so some pictures they were both looking around for the cool noise.



They were doing really great, the sun was in the right spot, and the leaves were so beautiful then...

my camera went dead.

AAHHHH!

SOoo I packed the kids back up in the car drove back home for batteries,
(while making the stop to the store for the M&M's before there was a 4 year old meltdown.)



We drove around again and I stopped at Triangle park in town, they have the most beautiful Gazebo there so I thought I would give it a shot.
It was so nice outside and the kids were having a great time so we just sorta hung out while I took pictures of the boys.
It was fun.

It may be one of my favorite memories of the boys together at this age.

The boys were pooped when we were done, and they finally had some good fresh air. I am so glad we got out that day because right now its snowing!
