Our First sorta kinda remodel...

The goal...

Move our bedroom from upstairs to downstairs, which was currently the nursery.
Move Logyn's stuff up to our old bedroom and make a bedroom/playroom for the boys.

First we needed a door on the old nursery.
It didn't have one... EVER!
I said we would not move downstairs until we had a door on our new room.
Matt and I have not had a door on our bedroom in 8 YEARS!

It's time.

The Mess...
We bought the door from Menard's, it was to long. The guy at Menard's said all doors are the same size.
Yep! For all currently built homes they are!
Not for our 90 year old Museum.
Took the door back.

In the mean time we had moved the toys into the living room.

Yikes!
Logyn's clothes and bedroom stuff was upstairs on the window seat area.
The crib was torn down and put out in the garage... (Logyn can flip himself over his head and onto the floor out of his crib, so he no longer sleeps in it.)
Logyn was put into the pack N play.
(It's the only thing he can't escape from... so far).
And he moved into his brothers room for a while. Which he screamed the first few nights.

I would scream too if I slept in Landyn's room.

We bought a new door, but still to long, so we needed to cut the bottom so it would fit. We didn't have a saw to do that so we asked my Uncle. He had the saw but couldn't help for about a week.
Great.

We started peeling the popcorn layers off of the ceiling. We had some water damage to the ceiling so we needed to see how bad it was, and see if we needed to replace the drywall.

It was good.

The scraping of the ceiling, not so fun. And very messy. But well worth it. It took Matt and I a whole weekend to scrape it off, and then clean it up, in the mean time, kids running around and wanting to be part of the fun.

We finished the ceiling, but we couldn't start the primer until we had a door on. So Matt called his buddy Donny and he helped hang and trim the door out.

WONDERFUL!

We went to put the door handle on that we bought 2 weeks before... who knew... door handles don't come in just one size...

Nice.

Well the door was up, no handle, OK we will just keep going and come back to that later.

Last weekend I primed and painted the ceiling, walls, trim, and closet.

It looks wonderful.

Just as I pictured it in my mind.
Then Sunday was the BIG MOVE!
After painting into the wee hours of the night, we got up and started cleaning and hauling our clothes and bedroom furniture into the newly refurbished room.

It turned out to be a little smaller then I imagined in my mind,

but still works perfect for Matt and I.

I have a walk-in closet. Which I had to get rid of clothes because I had TO MUCH!!! to fit.

Oh my lord I had no idea how much I had until I had to squeeze it into another room.

Matt has the closet we had for the baby clothes. Which I had to take two shelves of that for my bathroom materials.

We moved our T.V. into the room, which was a little complicated also. But we managed to figure it out on our own.

Now, it's getting Logyn a bed.

He needs a toddler bed or a twin, so now it's the hunt for a bed to complete the journey.
