The LoRusso household, filled with Christmas decorations, cookies, and excited monsters, ready for our holiday adventure as we waited for the giant snow storm to arrive.
We were all excited for the holidays this year. I feel as if we were somewhat cheated out of Thanksgiving again, and really wanted this Christmas to be special for the boys.
I know they probably won't remember so I guess I wanted it for my memories.
Christmas eve I had to work until 1:00 or so, and we planned to leave right after I got home to take the annual journey to Minneapolis. Something we all look forward to every year.
I make Matt turn on the Christmas music, (he only allows this on the way there), the family piles into the Freestar, and we are off.
Due to the enormous amounts of snow Minnesota seemed to get, with the rain, our adventure was canceled until the Saturday after Christmas. :-(
So our Christmas eve was a nice quiet night at home with almost the whole LoRusso bunch. Susan was home for the holiday's, taking a break from her busy school schedule.
We ordered Flyin' Pie and got ready for Santa to arrive.
Santa was very organized this year! Presents were made early, ready and wrapped a week in advance so there was no rush!
Logyn went to sleep right away. Landyn... on the other hand... not so much.
We heard a few thumps and noises from the upstairs, Matt had to make a couple trips up there to remind Landyn that, "Santa does not come until you are sleep, and if your not asleep, he ain't stoppin."
Landyn in sheer panic went to bed after that.
Logyn woke up first Christmas morning, and believe it or not I had to go wake up Landyn. When I told him that Santa came it was like he was never asleep "he did!?".

The boys came down to see what santa brought!

What is it!
Both boys enjoyed opening their presents, Logyn learned how to tear paper into 1000 pieces, and Landyn's experience was much better then last years.

Santa left some great presents.

Landyn had more fun playing with Logyn's presents then his I think.
Landyn got a huge race track that attaches to the top of his bedroom door, and some Ben 10 toys. Logyn got a ball popper, and a baby guitar, the boys got lots of great movies, and the family gifts were Jenga, and a new much needed DVD player.
Santa subscribed Matt to Napster so he can have a hobby. And I got 2 new cricut cartridges. "Santa" ...also left mommy something a little Lacy in my stocking.
"Santa" said, he tried getting me a camera but they were out so he got this instead.
Huh.
Camera.... little black Lacy item... hmmmm??.
anyways...

The end result.
The rest of Christmas day was spent at home. I made a big Christmas dinner.
Turkey this year, because of the over abundance of free turkey for us this year.
We only have 2 more turkeys to eat!
The food was great. I seen this new recipe on TV you wrap the turkey in bacon! Not the healthiest turkey, but mmmmm.
We called it Porkey.

Here is the pile of the LoRusso, Nemeth presents after everyone came to the house.
Yikes!
Logyn and his new Christmas Teddy.
We opened presents soon after supper the boys had a blast, and Logyn found a large chunck of Styrofoam.

Needless to say, he learned how to pull that apart into 1 million pieces.

Nice.
Saturday we awoke for our Minneapolis Adventure. Matt had to bring Susan home in the morning because she had to work.
We bundled the monsters up and packed some warm blankets and crammed Matt, Mary, GG, Logyn, Landyn and I into the Freestar.
It was cold, and the roads were not good. Sheets of ice on all Minnesota roads.
But it was all well worth the trip.

Vicki's cute little tree in her back family room. I thought it looked pretty with the blue lights on it and the snow in the background. I think the picture turned out pretty good.
Matt's Aunt Vickie puts on a great Christmas, full of great family, memories, and fun games.

A picture with the Santa hats, and some ones foot.
We all participate in "Deal or No Deal" on the computer and we can win real money!
Not exactly the $100,000 that I got to but so much fun.
Grandma Mary was the winner this year of 1st prize, and Landyn help pick all of her cases.

Peek-a-boo!

Logyn and GG

Logyn and Grandma Mary.
Landyn was the good luck charm this year and he loved it.

After presents, Logyn decided to take all of the wrapping paper out of the garbage bags and spread it all over the kitchen.

What ever makes him happy I guess.

Here Grandma I found your shoe.
Again it was time to pile into the Family Freestar and we were off on the trip home.
Roads.
Not good.
Sunday, the last of our Christmas hurrahs.
Wasn't looking forward to much of this one up north.
It was fine until about 4:00 and then I just got irritated, had a migraine, and wanted to go home. Landyn and Logyn had fun playing with Allen, and Matt and I sat with my Uncle Jeff and we listened to Grandpa's stories.
We seen the other side of the family so that is what counted.
By the ride home on Sunday I think we were done with visiting family and just wanted to be home and relax. It was a good Christmas this year. Fun to see the boys open gifts and get excited.
