Well so it goes... the LoRusso Thanksgiving curse had struck us AGAIN!
Just about every other year us LoRusso's get struck with some kind of sickness on or around Thanksgiving. Why can't the flu seasons be in March when nothing better is going on?
This year of course everyone is spooked by the so called "swine flu". Well the counties were out of the vaccine and what do ya know we all get it... at once the week before Thanksgiving.
Logyn came down with it first, and I of course had to take care of the poor little guy. He had a fever of 101.9 and was so sleepy. He didn't have a cough, but you could tell he was miserable from the fever. Needless to say we spent the whole weekend in my bed together. I kind of missed snuggling with him. It was bittersweet.
Next my Mom came down with it, forcing me to call in to work because my Mommy was sick. Then Wednesday at work I started to feel like crap, cold chills, then sweat running down my face and back. While I was at work, Matt called me from his work and told me he felt awful and was coming home. Thursday I tried coming to work but Karen sent me home, which I was gratefull in a way. I wanted to be at work, but yet I wanted my blankie.
Friday I got dressed, but all the work from getting dressed, made me feel like I ran a marathon, so I called Karen and said no way!
We decided because we were so sick we had to cancel a Thanksgiving we had planned with Matt's side of the family the saturday before Thanksgiving. I felt horrible, but I didn't want to get anyone else sick. Landyn on the other hand had not come down with anything yet, and we thought that he might dodge the whole thing, but Sunday he came down with a nasty cold, which could have well been H1N1.
Going back to work on Monday was like I should have come back from Maternity leave again. I felt like I was gone forever, and had to get back into the swing of things all over.
While I was working, my Grandma called and said she was canceling Thanksgiving because they were all sick with H1N1--- THEY ALL HAD THERE SHOTS a month ago.
So if you going to get it... your going to get it!
All we felt was the 101.9 fever and being completely exausted. Cold chills, sweats,a little coughing, and we just couldn't do a thing.
No vomiting, or any of that yucky stuff. But the thing does trick you into thinking your better when your not. You start walking around because you feel good, and then about 30 minutes later you can move again and sweat is pouring off your body.
