Oh My Santa!



Today we woke up this morning and took the boys to the Luck Library to see Santa. Landyn was very excited, he kept telling us that we were going to the Polar Express to see Santa.


We met our Neighbor Lisa with her daughter Kyrie and Landyn's classmate and best bud Anders and his sister Britta Dueholm. We walked in and the kids were less then thrilled. Its funny how excited they get before they get there, and when the time comes to meet Santa they change there minds completely.

We tried bribing Landyn, but no go. He changed his mind, he didn't want to see Santa, and neither did any of the other kids, except for Britta she is a bit older then the rest of them and she understood more what was going on.
Logyn James and Santa, such a joy us occasion don't you think.

Kyrie Grace didn't think this was fun either...

After a few more bribes and convincing, Daddy went up to see Santa too. Another picture of Landyn ticked at the world.

But once he got his present from Santa with goodies inside he forgot about the whole ordeal and was back to normal.

W X Y ? Z!!!!!

My oldest munchkin Landyn is totally too smart for his own good. I am not trying to be by est, but once you here this story you will laugh.

Tuesday night I was with the boys and Matt was out in the Man shack with his buds. The phone was ringing and I had just gotten home from work. Landyn was trying to get my attention desperately he wanted to show me that he can write his whole alphabet all by his self.

So finally I sat down at the table and he started writing away... he told me quote" I am not going to do the lower case letters because they are more difficult".

I was floored by what he just said... I said... "uhhh ok".

I watched him do the whole alphabet twice, but I did notice something near the end of his alphabet he would squeeze in another letter. I asked him what that was.
He said it was an N.
I said, honey there is only 1 N in the whole alphabet. He of course being Landyn argued with me and said oh yes there is... so he proceded to recite the whole alphabet.

Now that is a smart 4 year old!

I tried explaining to him that that was not an N it was an &. But he said that is not how he writes the alphabet. :-)

A Happy Thanksgiving!




We had Thanksgiving at my Aunt and Uncle Kim and Tim's this year. We usually go to my Grandma Bev's but she was sick.


We all had a good time, my sister was home from Madison with her boyfriend, and my Mom and my brother came too. So technically my whole family was there, which was nice.




As soon as we got to Tim's I told Matt that I wanted to take some family pictures before the boys got something on their clean clothes, so we got right infront of my Uncle's fireplace and he took some shots.


Landyn was pissed at the world and would not smile in any of the pictures, which I have come to terms with now having 2 little boys...




"I will never get good family pictures, someone will not be smiling, someone will not be looking straight at the camera, fingers will be in mouths and noses, and there will always be something on someones shirt".

The food was great, I love being able to stuff myself and not feel guilty. Its the holidays and that is my excuse!

My sister and I planned a shopping trip the following saturday in the cities, she stayed in the area until that sunday so it was nice to actually get to spend time with her. I would have loved to go shopping the friday after Thanksgiving, but I had to work.


My aunt and her friends left at 2 AM!!!! They had to get to the Herburger's sale.




I finished my Christmas shopping on Saturday which made me so happy. I started shopping in July! So this year the Christmas bill was not too shabby, and I even got to get extra gifts for people because I have been keeping my eyes open for six months. And of course Matt being able to work for the state of Minnesota getting over $30 an hour the last 2 weeks was deffinetly a help.


I am definetly going to keep christmas shopping in July an annual tradition.

H 1 N WHAT!!!!

Well so it goes... the LoRusso Thanksgiving curse had struck us AGAIN!

Just about every other year us LoRusso's get struck with some kind of sickness on or around Thanksgiving. Why can't the flu seasons be in March when nothing better is going on?

This year of course everyone is spooked by the so called "swine flu". Well the counties were out of the vaccine and what do ya know we all get it... at once the week before Thanksgiving.

Logyn came down with it first, and I of course had to take care of the poor little guy. He had a fever of 101.9 and was so sleepy. He didn't have a cough, but you could tell he was miserable from the fever. Needless to say we spent the whole weekend in my bed together. I kind of missed snuggling with him. It was bittersweet.

Next my Mom came down with it, forcing me to call in to work because my Mommy was sick. Then Wednesday at work I started to feel like crap, cold chills, then sweat running down my face and back. While I was at work, Matt called me from his work and told me he felt awful and was coming home. Thursday I tried coming to work but Karen sent me home, which I was gratefull in a way. I wanted to be at work, but yet I wanted my blankie.

Friday I got dressed, but all the work from getting dressed, made me feel like I ran a marathon, so I called Karen and said no way!

We decided because we were so sick we had to cancel a Thanksgiving we had planned with Matt's side of the family the saturday before Thanksgiving. I felt horrible, but I didn't want to get anyone else sick. Landyn on the other hand had not come down with anything yet, and we thought that he might dodge the whole thing, but Sunday he came down with a nasty cold, which could have well been H1N1.

Going back to work on Monday was like I should have come back from Maternity leave again. I felt like I was gone forever, and had to get back into the swing of things all over.

While I was working, my Grandma called and said she was canceling Thanksgiving because they were all sick with H1N1--- THEY ALL HAD THERE SHOTS a month ago.

So if you going to get it... your going to get it!

All we felt was the 101.9 fever and being completely exausted. Cold chills, sweats,a little coughing, and we just couldn't do a thing.
No vomiting, or any of that yucky stuff. But the thing does trick you into thinking your better when your not. You start walking around because you feel good, and then about 30 minutes later you can move again and sweat is pouring off your body.
